Kripalu Yoga
Kripalu Yoga is branch of yoga in which the body, mind and energy interplay.
It focuses on the prana, or “life force,” rhythmic energy pulsations that flow
softly throughout the body. Every negative thought that we experience creates
a block in the flow of prana. Through Kripalu Yoga, we can remove these blockages.
Kripalu yoga allows us to use our bodies to achieve piece within the spirit
and mind through a combination of:
- Physical postures
- Breathing techniques
- Deep relaxation
- Meditation
By paying objective attention to your physical, mental and emotional experiences,
you can dissolve blockages and free energy, leading to overall healing. The
more blockages you release, the deeper the healing process you can undergo.
Eventually, you will reach emotional stability, mental clarity and physical
well-being.
Kripalu yoga uses the body as a vehicle to gain access to the spiritual world.
Those who practice kripalu yoga can expect not only the physical benefits from
the removal of blockages and increased flow of prana, but feelings of self-empowerment
and personal growth. Rather than look to external sources for guidance, the
kripalu yoga student will learn to tap into his or her own knowledge. Though
you will remain open to the advice of others, you will maintain a firm grasp
on your own powers of reason, discrimination and judgment. At the same time,
though, you will increase and improve your relationship with your own body.
You will gain a new appreciation for sensations your body experiences. Kripalu
yoga will truly turn your body into a temple, giving you a ground upon which
you can connect with the forces of the Divine.
