Tai Bo (Tae Bo)

Tai-Bo (also called Tae Bo) was developed by seven-time world martial arts champion and seventh degree blackbelt Billy Blanks, one of the top physical fitness trainers in the U.S.A. Tai-Bo is a high-energy, fat-burning workout that combines:

· Self defense

· Martial Arts

· Aerobics

· Dance

· Boxing

All this is set to fast-paced dance music, making Tae Bo a truly fun workout. Besides, with all its components, Tae-Bo manages to roll all the benefits of all other kinds of workout classes into one explosive session: the cardiovascular and toning aspects offered in an aerobics class, the spiritual awareness offered in a martial arts class, and the strength and safety component offered in a self-defense class. When you practice Tai Bo, you’ll do combinations of several boxing moves: punches, kicks, speed bags, upper cuts, hooks, squats, and stretches. The classes finish off with a series of long, intense, standing poses reminiscent of those in power yoga (some may even last the entire duration of a song!). A typical one-hour Tae Bo session winds down with a Tai Chi cooldown. (Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese martial art that, through a series of gentle movements, leads you to a meditative state.)
