For the Zone diet to be truly effective the dieter must stick to a strict balance
of 40% Carbohydrate calories, 30% protein and 30% fat to fully realize the Zone
diet & health benefits that accompany it. With this delicate balance the dieter
can then maintain the body’s insulin levels, blood sugar levels, while at the
same time reducing glycosylated hemoglobin and triglyceride levels. It is imbalance
in these levels that can lead to problems such as obesity and diabetes. Keeping
track of all of this can get complicated for potential Zone dieters.
With a simple to use Zone diet calculator, the dieter simply has to enter their
daily caloric intake needs and the Zone diet calculator will let you know how
many calories of carbs, protein and fat you should consume to stay in the Zone.
It will also tell you how many grams of each food type you must consume to stay
within the prescribed boundaries of the diet.
For instance, if you are allowed 2000 calories in a day, the calculator determines
that you could eat 800 carbohydrate calories, 600 protein calories and 600 calories
of fat. That translates into 200 grams of carbs, 150 grams of protein and 67
grams of fat.
