What are the side effects of moor peat baths?
There are no dangerous side effects of moor peats. However, you may
experience a healing crisis because of the detoxification properties of the
moor peat. Be sure to take the moor peat bath no more than every other day.
There is such a thing as too much detoxification.
Also, moor peat retains heat when used in the bath, so during and after a bath,
sweating occurs. Skin may show a slight flush since the peat greatly improves
circulations and retains heat allowing the blood to flow to the surface of the
skin.
Also, if you are under medical care, in early pregnancy, or suffering from
hypertension or high blood pressure consult your medical physician before entering
any hot water bath or sauna or using any natural or alternative health product.
Local peat treatments are suitable for patients with heart diseases and a high
blood pressure. You may use the peat as a topical poultice or wrap in these
cases.
In Europe, patients with heart disease, high blood pressure under doctor supervision
take peat baths by placing an ice pack over the heart area during the bath.
Consult your physician before attempting this at home.
