Parafango
Parafango is a mixture of dehydrated mud (“fango” means “mud” in Italian),
containing healing minerals and herbal components, and various paraffins.
The combination of the thermal properties of paraffin and the detoxifying effects
of the fango creates an effective treatment for inch loss and cellulite control.
The warm parafango stimulates the lymphatic flow in the body and draws out toxins
from around the fat cells.
Cellulite causes unevenness of the skin, giving it the texture of an orange
peel. The thigh area is the part of the body most susceptible to cellulite accumulation.
Cellulite forms more easily in women than men due to differences in the structure
of the tissues. Cellulite forms as a result of hereditary factors, hormone dysfunctions,
lymphatic circulation problems, connective tissue weakness, premature skin aging,
poor nutrition, and alcohol abuse. These fat deposits can occur in people of
normal weight, as well as those who are lean. Parafango treatments decrease
the appearance and occurance of cellulite, as it draws out the toxins from the
fat cells and stimulates fluid elimination.
The parafango mixture retains its temperature of application for 1.5 hours,
and the treatment usually takes about an hour to complete. The parafango bars
are melted, heated, and applied to specific parts of the body. During the treatment,
the person will feel deeply relaxed. The parafango does not stick to body hair,
so the body is completely clean once removing the mixture. Sometimes a wrapping
technique is used after the mixture is applied in order to compact the soft
fatty tissue to make it firm and tight.
Parafango treatments can also be used to promote relaxation, for stress relief,
or to alleviate aches and pains caused by rheumatism and arthritis as the warm
mixture acts as a heat treatment.
