Feng Shui
Feng Shui (pronounced fung shway) can be literally translated to wind water
and stems from the ancient Chinese method of studying our natural environment.
With Feng Shui the main idea involves understanding our relationship with nature
and living in harmony within our environment.
Feng Shui can be of great benefit to our lives, helping to determine the most
favorable location for any person and therefore helping that individual to stay
clear of their least desirable location.
Feng Shui argues that by living with nature rather than against it we can benefit
both the environment and ourselves. Those who practice Feng Shui believe that
a strong connection between our physical environment and emotional well-being
can be forged to help us lead a better life.
If we surround ourselves with images of death, disgust and apathy, we in turn
will become unhappy and as corrupt. However, if we surround ourselves with images
of beauty, kindness and passion, and learn to enjoy music, art and various other
forms of expressions that symbolize the joys of life, we will in turn empower
ourselves and be happy, as is our environment.
