Weight Watchers
Weight watchers’ is an extremely influential diet that was created in the 1960’s
by Jean Nidetch a resident of Brooklyn, New York, who after fighting weight
problems throughout her married life started a weight program to loss the weight
and keep it off. From this weight loss program Weight Watchers International
was born.
Weight Watchers has a proven 40-year track record in helping people to loss
weight, and keep the weight from returning. Being one of the Worlds most popular
weight management programs its is estimated that over 25 million people across
the globe follow the weight Watchers program each week.
The basic idea behind the Weight Watchers plan is that food is assigned a points
value that is dependant on the following nutritional content:
- Number of calories
- Grams of fat
- Grams of fibre
The way the points value that is place on each item of food helps you loose
weight is that you have a maximum daily points allowance, so in theory you can
eat whatever you want; a hotdog, hamburger, pizza, cake, it doesn’t matter what
you eat, as long as you stay within your daily points allowance.
