Vegetarian Diet Plan:
A well balanced total vegetarian diet should contain the following each
day:
- 4-5 servings of fruits and vegetables (including both fresh and dried fruits
along with leafy greens and red, yellow and orange fruits and vegetables.)
- 3-4 servings of cereals, grains or potatoes (including wheat, rice, barley,
corn, oats, rye, millet and buckwheat.)
- 3-4 servings of legumes nuts and seeds (including lentils, beans, peas, peanuts,
chick peas, soy beans, almonds, walnuts, cashews, sesame seeds as well as sunflower
and pumpkin seeds.)
- 2 servings of meat, cheese, egg or soy products
- A small amount of oil margarine or butter
