The South Beach Diet Vegetarian
The aim of the South Beach diet is to teach you to rely on the right carbs
and the right fats in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle and lose weight.
A vegetarian plan can be worked into the South Beach diet. The vegetarian South
Beach Diet is a low carbohydrate weight loss plan designed by doctors. The diet
is split into three different phases and is said to be less stringent than any
other vegetarian low-carb diet. It is a three-phase program.
The first phase involves eating three normal sized meals made up of a limited
number of foods, including cheese, milk, eggs, and vegetables among other items.
All carbohydrates are excluded from your daily meals with the exception of a
few vegetables. You are not allowed to drink alcohol either.
The second phase begins to introduce some of the foods that you were not allowed
to eat in phase one back into your diet.
The third phase takes your diet a step further and includes all the four major
food groups. The last phase for a south beach diet vegetarian is meant to continue
indefinitely.
Supporters of the South Beach diet say it will result in 8 to 13 pounds of
weight loss in the first two weeks.
