O Blood Type Diet
If you have blood type O and diet is a concern you are in the majority of people.
Don’t fret though; there are dozens of blood type variations that make human
blood categorization a little more complex then just a bunch of letters in the
Alphabet. If you have O type blood you probably already know that you are the
universal blood donor, meaning anyone with A, B or AB type blood can accept
you blood without any harm. However, can only receive blood from other O’s.
Dr. D’Adamo has recently made waves by declaring that changing your diet to
match certain requirements of your blood type is the key to losing weight and
more importantly having more energy. What does that mean if you have O type
blood? Is there a diet for O type blood? DR. D’Adamo claims that historically
type O folks were the dominant hunter cavemen types that derive more energy
from eating meat and generally cannot digest wheat and grains that well. With
that said here are some guidelines to follow.
- You should generally eat a high protein diet
- Plenty of meats
- Low-Carb
- Lots of fruits and vegetables
- Limit the intake of wheat germ and whole-wheat products like, corn.
- Avoid dairy products and most nuts.
Type O’s are often blessed or plagued (depending on your perspective) with
high stomach acid, this is generally known as hypothyroidism. While this can
lead to ulcers, it also means you have thinner blood which has a greater resistance
to blood clotting.
