Diet for a Blood Type
What is the best diet for your blood type? In 1996 Dr. Peter D’Adamo claimed
that, depending on what kind of blood type you have, there are specific foods
that you can and cannot eat. While this claim has been challenged, there are
people out there who have had success on the blood type diet. The blood type
diet is clearly not a rapid weight loss diet. Instead it is a plan that, if
it works, lays a blueprint for a lifetime of healthy eating to diet according
to your blood type.
Another interesting aspect of the diet is the different exercise regimes it
proposes for different blood types. Can the blood type diet be a lifestyle diet?
The following is a chart that illustrates just where you might fit in to the
food and exercise scheme of the diet by blood type.
Type O’s
History’s Original Blood Type
- Eat meat that is high in protein and low in carbohydrates.
- Cut out wheat and most other grains that are exceptionally high in carbs.
- Engage in vigorous aerobic exercise like running, sports and cycling.
Type A’s
Agrarian Blood Type
- Try a vegan or a vegetarian diet that is high in carbohydrates and low in
fat.
- Take it easy with your exercise. Try Yoga, shuffleboard, long walks or even
golf.
- Low stress levels are also key to a healthy life for anyone, but it is extra
important for type A’s.
Type B’s
Balanced Blood Type
- Your diet will change the least. You can still eat most of the normal foods
that you are used to. The key here is balance and moderation. While eating
too much of anything is bad for you, it is especially bad for a type B.
- Like an A, you should avoid any super high impact exercise and instead swim
or go for walks.
- You are also able to eat dairy products, which aren’t recommended for the
other blood types.
Type AB’s
Royal Blood
- Essentially you a blend of A and B.
- Engage in calming exercises and relaxation techniques.
This guide should help you find the right diet for your blood type.
