Kinesthetic awareness
Kinesthetic awareness is the self-awareness of muscular tension or ease, joint
position, balance, and movement. The body’s muscles, joints, and vestibular
system of the inner ear, affect the body’s sensitivity to movement, and the
ability to balance. Kinesthetic awareness is often used as a technique for spiritual
growth.
The musculoskeletal structure of the body and movements constitute a major
part of how the body functions as whole reactive mechanism. Emotional tension
can directly affect and be affected by neuro-muscular tension levels. Through
greater kinesthetic awareness, these tension levels can be controlled to achieve
greater flexibility of body and mind.
