Dietary fibre is a term that is used to describe a group of compounds found
in foods. Mainly complex carbohydrates dietary fibre is left undigested by the
body when it is ingested.
There are many health benefits associated with eating dietary fibre, as higher
intake has been associated with less occurrence of:
- Heart disease
- Bowel cancer
- Diabetes
- Hernias
- Hemorrhoids
Dietary fibre is also beneficial as it combats constipation.
